Our name Khumbula Bears is based on the African languages in Xhosa, but also significantly the same word in Zulu, and Sesotho. It means “Happy Memories”.

Our extra large Khumbula Bear is 65cm tall when standing, 44cm when sitting. it has movable arms and legs attached with big buttons.

Memory bears are teddy bears made from clothing and belongings with sentimental value to the receiver of the bear. They make excellent Sympathy Gifts, Memorial Gifts and Bereavement Gifts. During time of loss and grief, they can offer great comfort. They are huggable and a beautiful remembrance of a loved one. Its a perfect way to honour those that are longer near, but still here in spirit.

Clothing to be provided by the person and shipping costs are for your own account or can be dropped off in Roodepoort. Our medium bears are not jointed and therefore more suitable for small children.

Personalisation can be done with an extra charge. Please be sure to advise if you want a girl or boy bear. Our bears are packaged in a stylish drawstring bag with a birth certificate.
