Crochet opens the door to a creative journey of many possibilities. Whether you are making gifts, making for yourself or making to sell there is many designs and patterns to explore.
Our basic class covers:
- Learn how to start a chain for the base, Magic loop and plain
- Learn the US and UK terminology and stitch abbreviations
- Understand the various hook sizes and differences in hooks
- Discussion and explanations of various wool categories both locally and overseas
- Learn all the basic stitches required to make items
- Learn how to increase and decrease stitches
- Learn about stop and starting new colours
- Working in the round
- Learn about stuffings to use for toys
- Learn about safety eyes or create your own
- Use of tools available
- How to read a pattern
- Weaving in ends
- Changing colours
- Sewing items together
Approximately 30 – 35 hours will be required for this workshop which is structured for individual attention, so although there might be a group setting, you will receive instructions on an individual basis. Projects include various bags, cushions, throws, scarf, toys. Most kits are provided with scheduled projects.
