Eskom, South Africa’s leading electricity supplier, has announced the opening of applications for its Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme for 2025/2026. This initiative provides young South Africans with the opportunity to gain practical work experience, develop professional skills, and kickstart their careers in one of the country’s most vital industries.
Application Deadline: 19 September 2025
Internship Location: Eskom Arnot Power Station, Mpumalanga, with placements available across South Africa
Programme Duration: 12 months (Fixed Term Contract)
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the YES Programme, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between the ages of 18 and 34
- Hold a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, or a post-matric certificate/programme
- Have not been permanently employed with a single employer for more than one year
- Not be enrolled in full-time studies during the programme year
- Not have participated in the YES initiative previously
