The South African Police Service (SAPS) has officially opened applications for its Graduate Recruitment Scheme for 2025/2026. Who Can Apply?
To be considered for the SAPS Graduate Recruitment Scheme, you must:
- Be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
- Hold at least a Matric certificate (NSC/NCV Level 4).
- Be unemployed and have never worked in the field of the advertised post.
- Not have participated in any other internship programme previously.
- Reside in the province where you are applying.
- Submit a maximum of three applications (with a separate form for each reference number).
Applicants with tertiary qualifications (Diploma, Degree, or higher – NQF 6 and above) may apply for Graduate Internships, while students who still require workplace experience to complete their qualifications may apply for Student Internships.

The SAPS offers opportunities in a wide range of fields, including but not limited to:
- Graduate Interns: Social Work, Psychology, Law, Finance, HRM/HRD, Supply Chain, IT, Journalism, Communication, Forensic Investigation, Engineering, Sports Management, and more.
- Student Interns: HRM, Finance, Technical Services, Library Science, and other disciplines requiring experiential learning.
- Motor Mechanics: Opportunities are available in various provincial garages for Petrol and Diesel Mechanics.

- Updated CV
- Uncertified copies of your SA ID, Matric certificate, and all relevant tertiary qualifications with transcripts
- For student interns: A confirmation letter from your institution (not older than 2 years)
- Submit Your Application
- Post or hand-deliver your application to the relevant provincial office listed in the official advert.
- Clearly indicate the reference number and province on each application.
- Applications sent via fax or email will not be accepted.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will go through fingerprint verification, vetting, and interviews. Only successful applicants will be contacted within four months after the closing date. Those selected will sign a 12-month internship contract.
Important: Completion of the internship does not automatically guarantee permanent employment in SAPS.
